GDC 2009: Noby Noby Boy Was Developed on 360

Katamari Damacy creator, Keita Takahashi, revealed that the PSN exclusive Noby Noby Boy was developed on the Xbox 360. His reason for releasing the game exclusively to PSN was that he dislikes seeing so many people staring down at handheld games on the subway. "Maybe it's not such a good thing if a game sells a lot of copies. So we put it on the PS3 as a download only title so it wouldn't sell as many." Takahashi also said he likes how the PS3 controller’s analogs are aligned horizontally. On the other hand, he didn’t like the asymmetrical setup that the 360 controller has.

It also seems as if there are no hopes for this game being released on the console it was originally developed for. Here is what Takahashi says: "Well, this game is not being sold well, so I can't support Xbox at all."
