‘Six Days in Fallujah’ Announced

This morning Konami announced a new project based on real battle in Iraq. The game, Six Days in Fallujah, is set to release some time next year. It is a third-person shooter which takes place during the real-life 2004 US Marine-lead battle for Fallujah, the central city located in Baghdad. The game attempts to completely recreate the battle on a day-by-day basis, trying to bring, not discomfort, but a compelling entertainment experience.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Peter Tamte says the following:

"We replicate a specific and accurate timeline -- we mean six days literally," "We track several units through the process and you get to know what it was like from day-to-day." “We're not trying to make social commentary. We're not pro-war. We're not trying to make people feel uncomfortable. We just want to bring a compelling entertainment experience. At the end of the day, it's just a game."

To me, as of now the game is looking a bit like your everyday war game, but with the release of the game being next year, there is plenty of time for much more work to be done.
