Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Review

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD fills in some missing puzzle pieces in the Metal Gear Solid series.

DmC: Devil May Cry - metacritic debacle!

We all know that DmC: Devil May Cry is a very hyped game, a reboot that would "surpass" its predecessors with new amazing art style, storyline, gameplay and cutscenes? Did it met expectation or it "failed"? Heres the current status...

DmC: Devil May Cry is a reboot of the original and popular Devil May Cry that had huge cultural impact and sold over 10 million copies world wide. Sub-genre called "Extreme Combat" came from original DMC because of powerful hero that is dealing with hordes of foes with focus on stylized action. Original Dante is confident, fearless and a total bad ass...

DmC: Devil May Cry is different compared to the original, especially since Capcom told Ninja Theory to be completely different to appeal the younger demographics. This reboot will not be liked by some fans of the original since its radical changes that may or will back fire because of various factors and result in a debacle, lets see how the people responded...

The Critic review is overall positive with just two being mixed, DmC: Devil May Cry scored on metacritic 86 on Xbox 360 and 87 on Playstation 3 while user reviews are negative mostly and the reboot scores mere 2.6 to sometimes 3.0 on both consoles. Most people that currently played it are disappointed since it dint lived up to the hype... Public Enemy anyone?

We all know that some games a hyped, our fingers got burned and our felling´s also,  exsample of overhyped games are Daikatana, Prey, Haze and many other games... Don´t always believe the hype, it could seriously give you a smackdown on your emotions and your wallet. EA is kinda a leader of that while Valve deserves the hype, mostly... Gabe, Half Life 3???

If you like this article or want to discuss it leave a comment... (check metacritic in case scores have changed for DMC reboot)

Retro Review: Tekken 3

Tekken series is one of the most famous and iconic series for Arcades and Playstation consoles made by Namco (Rigde Races, Time Crisis, Soul Calibur series, etc... Founded in 1955,its one of the most creative game companies in the 90-is)

Tekken 3 can be considered as the best Tekken in the series compared to its predecessors and successors. First Tekken was released in 1994, just one year after Virtua Fighters by Sega´s studio AM 2 and designed by legendary Yu Suzuki. Virtua Fighter relatively influenced Tekken series and its development as it was also a 3D fighting game. Dont b#$ch about it...

Released in 1998 Tekken 3 folows the core fighting system and concept from its predecessors, it brings many improvements as smoother animations when you give a smackdown to your opponents, vastly improved graphic details to see little details on character models with nice bloody ends by Yoshimitsu with his katana, great soundtracks that fits each character perfectly... 15 new characters  or 17 in Playstation version. There are two mini-games: Tekken Force: You need to pass stages as fast as possible and beat mini-bosses at the end while time is running out, you can get more time by beating opponents... Beach Volleyball: Kick the ball and if it falls to the ground behind the opponent it damages him and you can do direct damage with special moves.

Storyline: King of the Iron Fist Tournament 3 is started by Heihachi Mishima that established Tekken Force paramilitary organization, as Ogre devastates Heihachi´s squadron of Tekken Force that were searching ancient temples in Mexico. As Heihachi Mishima witnessed the power of Ogre when he arrived and decided to start KIFT3 and lure him and try to harness his power. In meantime Ogre kills most characters from previous Tekken games and joins the KIFT competition that is only launched/started as a trap for him(Ogre). We all know how it ends as Jin kicks the c##p out of Ogre and gaining his powers... Tekken 3 cutscene´s are well made, beatifull with some funny twists and turns that makes you laugh.

Tekken 3 is faster than its predecessors, better sidesteps for better dodging the attacks,  lower realistic jumps with fighting in the air is more controllable, more ways to evade tackles and stuns with better juggles and more combos. The music gives you eargasm when you are fighting, since Tekken 3 is more dynamic the fights are great and gives you decent challenge even on easy most noticeably against Heihachi while Ogre hard but as True Ogre is a piece of cake sadly when you defeat his semi-human form except on higher difficulties...

Tekken Force is a challenge mode where you need to pass stages as fast as possible since time running out, beat opponents and mini-bosses to earn more time... If you lose then you are back at first stage, you can replenish your health with chicken meat and if you do so you get insulted: Chicken...! (Oh how ironic... *sarcasm* *cough* *cough*)

Beach Volleyball: Its simple, you kick the ball to land behind your opponent and deal damagge or you can direct kick with a special kick/move towards your opponent and deal damage when hit also your opponent can do counter-attack like you can... If it touch the ground behind your characters it will deal damage. Its fun to play, hopefully you will like it too...

I enjoyed Tekken 3 when I was a kid especially. My favorite characters were Jin, Yoshimitsu, Hwoarang and Law because of their style of fighting while smacking the AI, your friend(or dad) even thought its not fun when you got a smackdown from your sister even thought she rarely played it... It results in overall fail for me.

9/10 (If you can buy the original CD or on PSN just buy it because this game deserve a lighter wallet/credit card)

The Phantom Pain Alternative Trailer Analysis

Back in late December, Joakim Mogren, the CEO of Moby Dick Studios, released an alternative version of The Phantom Pain trailer. Although the visuals are unchanged, you will notice the music and sounds have been replaced by something new. Check out the new trailer below before we begin to analyze.

As we can all see, or should I say hear, the only difference from this alternative trailer and the original is the audio. However, some new theory's have come about after the release of this new trailer. One of the most interesting of these is that the protagonist could quite possibly be Liquid. That's right, Liquid may very well be the character you see in the trailer. Let me explain how this might be possible.

Many of us have come to believe that Liquid lost his right arm rather than his left because Ocelot wears Liquids right arm. However, Ocelot only pretended to be Liquid, so it is possible Liquid may have lost his left arm at some point.

Something else that could lead us to believe that the character seen is Liquid is the UK flag. Liquid was raised in Great Britain and worked as an agent there for a while.

Another key point in the trailer that backs up this theory is the car crash scene. Anyone who has played, and completed, Metal Gear Solid 1 will know the game leads to a car chase which ends in a car crash for Liquid. With that being said, this scene may be a reference to the ending of Metal Gear Solid 1. It does seem as if Liquid dies after the car crash, but there is the possibility of him being in a coma. His body was recovered by the government at some point.

Personally, I believe this assumption is very unlikely to be true, but there is always that possibility. Let's go on to some other things I'd like to point out that I may not have in the first post on the original trailer.

The white petals seen when the character is awakening from his coma could very easily prove that he is Big Boss considering the same white petals were seen in Metal Gear Solid 3 when he is ordered to kill The Boss.

One last thing that I wanted to point out about the CEO's name is that the beginning of his first name, Joakim, sounds like the word joke. We already know that the letters of his name rearranged spell out Kojima, but maybe the choice of arrangement for the fake name sounding like "joke" wasn't just a coincidence. Just a small something I noticed and thought I would share with you.

With all of that being said, what do you guys think? Maybe some theories were over-thought and just don't fit the Metal Gear Solid story. Regardless of which assumptions are true, I'm ready to see more visuals or clues for The Phantom Pain.

Sony To Launch Web PS Store This Month

Sony is finally planning to open up their web-based PlayStation Store sometime this month. Also, CNET writer Christopher MacManus spoke to Sony Network Entertainment chief operating officer Shawn Layden and got word that the web store will allow users to automatically download content to their PlayStation 3's.

Last month, the SEN store launched in Europe as a "test" according to Sony. Although users can purchase PS3 and Vita content from the web store and have them show up in the PS3 and Vita downloads list, they can't be automatically downloaded to the devices via the web store.

Three Dog Voice Actor Teases At New Fallout Title

Fallout 3's Three Dog voice actor, Erik Todd Dellums, gave hints at a new Fallout coming soon. This is what Erik had to tell his fans on Twitter:

To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!
How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed.

Although this doesn't exactly confirm that a new Fallout game is in the works, his re-tweet to one of his followers hints more at the fact that it could possibly be a new game, or possibly even a movie. Here is what he replied to his follower:

I know you can’t say but I can state the obvious.. either 3 Dog in the fallout sequel or 3 dog in Fallout Movie.#letTheRumorsFly
Bethesda has yet to announce that there will be another Fallout title, but with the success of Fallout 3, you can assume they will follow up with a new post-apocalyptic game set in a new location. Only time will tell.

Target Price Matching Online Retailers Prices Year-Round

Target implemented a price-match program with online retailers during the holidays and that program is in full effect starting today. Target will now price-match any online retailers prices such as Amazon, Best Buy, and their own Target.com all year. This is exciting news to those who regularly purchase their PlayStation 3 games from Amazon, known for some of the best prices on video games. However, with Amazon's new state sale tax, customers may find new means of purchasing their games. Instead of ordering from Amazon and waiting for your game to come through the mail, you can purchase the same game at Target for the same price and take it home instantly. Not a bad move by Target I must say. Will other large retailers such as Walmart and Best Buy follow in their footsteps? Will this change the way you buy your video games? Let us know in the comments below.

Black Ops 2 Revolution DLC Coming Feb. 28th

Activision released the official trailer for the Black Ops 2 Revolution DLC today which confirms some of the rumors you may have noticed. The trailer features each new map, the new zombie mode in which players take control of the zombies, and the Peacekeeper weapon. Although the PlayStation 3 release date isn't given in the trailer, the UK retailer HMV posted that it will be released on February 28th, a month after its release on Xbox Live. Check the trailer out below along with descriptions of new content included in this DLC pack.

  • Peacekeeper - An SMG/assault rifle hybrid.
  • Mirage - A town set in the aftermath of a sandstorm with sand dunes scattered in between buildings with one structure directly in the center; perfect for sniping and creeping up on enemy players.
  • Downhill - A Ski Lodge in the French Alps with both an accessible interior and working Ski Lift for transport up the mountain for the perfect cover (or death trap).
  • Hydro - This large map is perfect for long distance killing and with working flood gates to block paths/take our enemies, could be the best map in the DLC.
  • Grind - This more compact map sees players use ramps and bowls for cover along the Venice, California Boardwalk.
  • Die Rise - A new Zombies map set atop buildings that are literally falling apart.
